Digdata certification
Digdata believe it is important to reward the effort, commitment and dedication of young people who are working towards gaining career knowledge, so all student members who take part in our challenge activities are issued with a certificate. These can be uploaded to students’ CVs, LinkedIn profiles or any job applications, demonstrating their personal interest in the world of data to potential employers. Students can take part in as many Digdata activities as they wish, with each certificate referencing the relevant leading brand or service – a great way to make CVs and job applications stand out from the crowd!
With Digdata activities available from age 12+, younger students can really get ahead of the game. Taking part in our live online career challenges and live online career panels will not only broaden their outlook on data careers available to them, but also help steer their option choices at GCSE, further and higher education.
Our certification system is based on how each of our activities meets the government’s Gatsby Benchmarks for good career guidance. The eight benchmarks set out in the report serve as a framework for improvement in careers provision and have been adopted as part of the government’s careers strategy and statutory guidance for schools and colleges.
Each activity meets the following of the
government’s Gatsby Benchmarks

All student members who take part in Digdata live online career challenges and submit their work will receive a VIRTUAL WORK EXPERIENCE CERTIFICATE referencing the relevant data champion brand or service. To support teachers in meeting the Gatsby Benchmarks, our classroom resources offer the opportunity to link curriculum-based learning and careers in the classroom. This resource is available to all our teacher and career leader members. We offer a CLASSROOM DATA CAREER CHALLENGE CERTIFICATE to all teachers that submit their work to the Digdata team. In addition, if participating students are Digdata members, we will email them directly with an individual DATA CAREER CERTIFICATE. Students who have no access to technology can request membership and certification through their teacher.
