Digdata Volunteer FAQs
Q: Do I need to be DBS checked?
A: No – a DBS check is not required to volunteer at our events. Digdata ensures appropriate safeguarding processes are in place for all events.
Q: Who can volunteer for our data days?
A: Most volunteers work in data-related roles, but that’s not essential. If you have intermediate knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint and feel confident supporting students as they work through tasks, we’d love to hear from you.
We welcome professionals from data and STEM fields, educators, career changers, and even students who are passionate about using data to tell stories and solve problems to apply.
Q: What are the benefits of volunteering for data days?
A: Volunteering with Digdata is a rewarding way to share your passion for data while making a real impact. You’ll inspire young people to build confidence, develop practical skills, and explore future career possibilities.
Many volunteers also strengthens their own communication and leadership skills – and connect with like-minded professionals.
Q: How can I prepare for the day?
A: The Digdata team will send you everything you need in advance, including event details, resources, and guidance so feel confident and ready to go.
